Intensives

Intensive therapy sessions are offered at the clinic during school term time and holidays.

They provide an  opportunity for therapists to work with children in a more concentrated manner utilising therapy equipment and resources with the aim of accelerating therapeutic gains over a shorter period of time.

Intensives can help to overcome difficulties more quickly than a single weekly session (compare the effects of going to the gym once a week compared to 3 times a week).

For some children, this can form an important step in overcoming sensory, coordination, motor or handwriting difficulties, within a supportive environment.

Intensives are recommended for some children as needed, even if the child does limited practice at home. Therapists will determine with you whether this treatment approach is appropriate for your child.

Recent research conducted has shown benefits using more intensive intervention sessions of three times a week to achieve outcomes.
