Physiotherapy services for children support babies, children and adolescents to maximise their quality of movement and function through evidence based approaches to therapy.
You can see our physiotherapist for help if:

Your child is delayed in achieving gross motor milestones e.g. not sitting by 9months, not attempting to stand by 12 months, not walking by 18 months.

You notice problems with muscle tone, e.g. your baby feels overly ‘stiff’ or ‘floppy’ when carrying her.

Your baby develops a flat spot on their head or has a tight or stiff neck (preference for turning to one side).

Your baby is unsettled and unable to play on her tummy by 4 months age.

Your child is walking differently, in-toeing, out-toeing, walking on toes, or tripping and falling a lot.

Your child has problems with coordination and balance, kicking, catching, running, jumping.

You have concerns about your child’s overall posture, strength and stamina.

Your child has pain or injury associated with activity or sports.
Alisa Moore (B. Phty UQ) has over 12 years experience as a physiotherapist working with children and experience in sports injuries and sports training. She has worked in a range of settings, hospitals, private practice and community services and worked at a senior level.
Alisa also has extensive experience working in rehabilitation and disability. She has experience in:

Supporting children with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida.

Paediatric gait analysis - identifying and addressing impairments through a range of different modalities including footwear prescription, taping, orthotic prescription, strength and conditioning and targeted skill training.

Rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery, acquired brain injury, recovery from chronic illness or other surgery or conditions.

Equipment prescription to support standing, walking and gross motor skill development.
Physiotherapy services may be based in the clinic, a home, at school or any other setting appropriate to therapy e.g. hydrotherapy pool.
